About Us

When was it set up

My Event Giving was set up in 2004 in order to encourage birthday celebrants to make donations to charity rather than ask for gifts. The scheme was established by two cousins, Holly and Hannah, both of whom have a background in fundraising for charity. Hannah ran the scheme (and participated in it on her wedding day) for two years until becoming a mum. The scheme is now run by Holly. The scheme has now grown to encompass a number of additional schemes that celebrate all aspects of life through giving.

My Event Giving's Vision

My Event Giving aims to enable individuals to give monies to charity, couples and family or friends to receive a gift that has meaning, and charities to benefit from the goodwill and altruism of couples and the generosity of their friends and family. It aims to enable people to celebrate important moments in life, as well as life itself, through giving.

About Holly and Hannah - My Event Giving's Founders

Hannah came up with the idea of My Event Giving when she merged homes and married in 2004. She and her husband were desperate to rid their home of clutter, and rather than wanting more decided not to ask for presents. With Holly's background in charity fundraising and her obsession with processes, theirs was a perfect family partnership to establish the scheme. Holly now runs the scheme on her own as sole Director, as Hannah has been since been promoted from the important role of wife to mother.
